Run Coast to Coast
Alan, Oliver's daddy, decided to run across Ireland from Bundoran in County Donegal on the west coast, to Newcastle in County Down on the east coast, passing through towns and villages raising awareness of Meningitis along the way. The run is approximately 135 miles in total and Alan will be joined by his twin brother Simon for the entire run. He will also have a support vehicle which will be driven by various friends and family members.
The start date for the run is scheduled for Wednesay 22nd May 2008 - one year to the date of Oliver's admission to hospital. It is expected that it will take approximately 18 days to complete, allowing for running 13 miles per day with break days every fourth day.
Along the way there will be street fundraising in the towns listed below on:
May 21st - Bundoran.
May 22nd & 23rd - Enniskillen.
May 28th &29th - Monaghan.
May 28th & 29th - Portadown.
May 30th - Armagh.
June 1st - Lurgan.
June 2nd & 3rd -
Banbridge.
June 3rd & 4th - Newcastle.
A fundraising night is being held in the Fort Lodge Hotel
Enniskillen on Saturday 24th May featuring four bands including Saviours of Sin and Mommas Slippers. Doors open @
6:00pm
We will be holding several other fundraising events
including pub quizzes and raffles in various places across the province - keep
an eye out on the website for more details. Once again, if you are in any
